Bottas takes Pole Position!

The Qualifying on Silverstone observed the 64th Mercedes Front-row lockout with Valtteri Bottas as the Provisional Pole Sitter.

The Williams were once again the backmarkers with Kubica finishing P20 and Russell P19. Once again the Canadian, Lance Stroll was out in Q1 at P18. Kvyat and Magnussen both lacked pace and have been struggling this weekend. They finished P17 and P16, respectively.

Q2

Sergio Pérez could only manage a P15. Grosjean could only manage a P14. Surprisingly, Carlos Sainz couldn’t make it to Q3, finishing P13. Both the Alfa Romeos were out of Q3 with Giovinazzi being the better man. Räikkönen and Giovinazzi finished P12 and P11, respectively.

Q3

It was a good day for Renault as both their drivers made it to the top 10. Hülkenberg finished P10. Alex Albon has been incredible today managing a P9. The rookie, Lando Norris finished right behind the Renault of Daniel Ricciardo who bagged a P7. The Red Bulls were sandwiched between the 2 Ferraris. Gasly is having his best weekend, topping FP1 and finishing right behind his teammate in Qualifying. Verstappen finished P4. While Vettel struggled and could only manage P6, Leclerc, who had the pace to become the Pole Sitter, finished P3. Yet another Frontrow lockout for Mercedes. Valtteri Bottas stole the Pole Position from Lewis Hamilton by just 0.006 secs.
